How you can help foster kids and orphans in NEPA
Everything we do at Wilkes Barre Racing has one purpose: get forever homes for children abandoned, abused or left homeless on our community. As you experience the joy and accomplishment of race day, we ask you to stop at one the local foster care, adoption or child advocacy booths near the registration and post race activity area.
- See the profiles of local kids ready to be adopted (and it won’t cost you a penny)
- Learn about how to become a foster parent
- Discover how to become a court appointed advocate for children from broken homes
- Learn more about the issues affecting our children and how you can help
We know foster care, adoption and advocacy isn’t for everyone. But the more you know the more you can help reach out to others and help spread the word.
Help WB Racing programs for orphans and foster kids – EAT A PIZZA!
Every year WBR conducts countless activities outside the athletic arena that support and encourage foster care and adoption in NEPA. These activities include

- Sponsorship of the “Voices of Adoption” radio campaign
- Sponsorship of the “Child of the Week” newspaper feature
- Distribution of hundreds of circus, hockey and baseball tickets to foster children
- Sponsorship of the “Kids Race Free” program that allows any foster child in Pennsylvania to enter and athletic event free
You can help support our work for foster kids in a most delicious way - eat at Grotto’s after the race! Just use the “Grotto’s Food Voucher” at checkout and Grotto’s will donate 20% of your food (non-alcohol) bill to Wilkes Barre Racing.
